The Sisters Folk Festival is a three-day celebration of American music, from blues to bluegrass. The Festival is held the weekend after Labor Day every September in beautiful Sisters, Oregon. Breedlove is proud to be a main stage sponsor at the Festival and we also support the Americana Song Academy, a comprehensive musical workshop with an emphasis on songwriting, lyric development, guitar technique and accompaniment. The Academy is designed for musicians, writers and songwriters of all ages who are interested in lifelong learning and acoustic American music in its finest traditions.
This year's festival featured some excellent folk and bluegrass music from the likes of Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, the Biscuit Burners, Willie Porter, the Greencards, Chuck McCabe, Tim May, and many more. Breedlove staffed a booth at the main stage, fully stocked with instruments that could be played by attendees. And we raffled off a Breedlove Focus, with all proceeds going to the Americana project.
It was a great weekend of music, and a great chance for some of us at Breedlove to meet and get to know all the performers and music fans that came to Sisters on this special weekend. We look forward to returning next year!
