This Breedlove Weissenborn-Style Lap Steel is the first of its kind, although it is highly doubtful it will be the last. This instrument was custom-built for Fingerstlye Master and Breedlove Signature Artist Ed Gerhard. Ed was looking for a Weissenborn-style instrument that he could play using slide technique, while also fretting bass notes. To meet this challenge, Jayson Bowerman designed this guitar with frets that are flush to the fretboard surface beneath the top three strings, while maintaining a full fret profile beneath the bottom three bass strings.
